Situated on a sloping site in the Gold Coast’s Tallebudgera Valley, this project is a 2 storey design inspired by the traditional English style, country house. It is accompanied by a smaller, cottage style, guest house.
The Manor upper floor cantilevers the lower and the roof design is pitched at 45 degrees complimenting the three north facing dormer windows. The carpentry for this intricate roof design was completed by hand without any manufactured trusses. This approach allowed for the interior feature of the 4.5m raked ceilings.
The Cottage is a single storey, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom guest house. Constructed on a sloping block in the Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast. The front of The Cottage is just 600mm off the ground, whilst the rear is raised two metres. The Cottage is essentially a pole home and has a 45 degree pitched roof design with raked interior ceilings.
